Best in Connecticut – Treehouse on Animal Farm with Bonfire and Gazebo

Treehouse on Animal Farm with Bonfire and Gazebo

Treehouse at Bluebird Farm combines an elevated woodland stay with the atmosphere of a working animal sanctuary.

The property sits on a 40-acre farm, creating a peaceful rural setting where meeting the resident animals becomes part of the experience. There’s also a garden gazebo for relaxing outdoors.

Willington puts you within reach of hiking trails, vineyards and breweries, while Hartford is around 35 minutes away.

Why We Picked It: The farm sanctuary setting makes this much more than simply a cabin among the trees and gives it one of the most distinctive settings in Connecticut.

---

Best in Massachusetts – Modern Treehouse in Truro Hills

Modern Treehouse in Truro Hills

Modern Treehouse in Truro Hills is one of the largest properties in this guide and a particularly good choice for a family or group trip to Cape Cod.

The home has several bedrooms, plenty of indoor living space and a multi-level deck that makes the surrounding trees part of the experience.

Its biggest advantage is the location. Provincetown, Pamet Harbor, beaches and Cape Cod National Seashore are all within easy reach.

There’s also an outdoor shower, which is especially useful after summer days spent exploring the Cape.

Why We Picked It: Capacity for eight combined with easy access to Cape Cod’s beaches makes this one of the strongest family options in the roundup.

Best in Maine – MoonLight Treehouse at Belgrade Hospitality

MoonLight Treehouse at Belgrade Hospitality

MoonLight Treehouse provides a more luxurious take on a Maine woodland retreat.

Set among pine trees near the waterfront of Belgrade Stream, it combines an elevated forest atmosphere with the amenities that make a longer stay comfortable.

The private hot tub is an obvious highlight, particularly during cooler New England evenings, while the wider Belgrade Lakes area provides plenty of opportunities to get outdoors.

Why We Picked It: The combination of a hot tub, waterfront surroundings and a peaceful Maine setting makes MoonLight particularly appealing for couples.

Best Four-Season Stay in New Hampshire – Two-Story Treehouse near Lake Sunapee

Luxurious Two-Story Treehouse near Lake Sunapee

This two-story treehouse near Lake Sunapee is designed for more than summer glamping.

Amenities including heated floors, air conditioning and a fireplace make it practical across New England’s changing seasons.

There are two bedrooms, providing more privacy than you’d get from a compact studio-style treehouse, while the wooded Newbury setting puts both Lake Sunapee and Mount Sunapee within easy reach.

Why We Picked It: The combination of two bedrooms and genuine four-season comforts makes this one of the most versatile New Hampshire options.

Worth Knowing: This is a polished, modern treehouse stay rather than a rustic off-grid experience.

---

Best Off-Grid Stay in Vermont – The Hermit Thrush Treehouse

The Hermit Thrush Treehouse

The Hermit Thrush is not simply one cabin. It’s a two-treehouse compound with separate spaces for sleeping, cooking and relaxing.

The setup includes a cooking and eating pavilion, shower and fire pit, creating a much more immersive outdoor experience than a conventional vacation rental.

Sleeping is split across levels, with a double bed below and three single beds above.

Why We Picked It: The multi-structure layout and rustic woodland setting make this one of the most authentic treehouse experiences in the guide.

Worth Knowing: This is a seasonal property and is much more rustic than New England’s luxury treehouses.

---

Best for Mountain Views – Lilla Rustica

Lilla Rustica

Lilla Rustica is an elevated cabin with beautiful views toward Camel’s Hump State Park.

Large windows bring the surrounding landscape into the interior, while amenities include Wi-Fi, a small refrigerator and propane fireplace.

The property retains a deliberately simple, rustic atmosphere, making it better suited to travelers who enjoy getting closer to nature than those expecting hotel-style facilities.

Why We Picked It: The mountain views are the real highlight, particularly during Vermont’s famous fall foliage season.

Worth Knowing: Utilities and plumbing are more primitive than at the luxury properties in this guide, so arrive expecting a rustic experience

Best near Acadia – Treehouse near Bar Harbor

Treehouse near Bar Harbor

This spacious Maine treehouse works particularly well if Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are high on your itinerary.

The accommodation is unusually well equipped for a treehouse, with a kitchen, fireplace, whirlpool, sauna and seasonal outdoor shower.

There’s also plenty of deck space for enjoying the woodland setting, while the Hancock location gives you access to attractions along Maine’s Downeast coastline.

Why We Picked It: The sauna, whirlpool and proximity to Acadia make this an especially good choice for combining outdoor adventures with a comfortable place to return to.

Worth Knowing: You’ll be outside Bar Harbor itself, so a car is the easiest way to explore the region.

Best Lakes Region Treehouse – Cozy Treehouse Cottage

Cozy Treehouse Cottage in New Hampshire

Set around 12 feet above the ground, this cozy treehouse gives you a genuine elevated stay without sacrificing everyday comforts.

Inside you’ll find a kitchenette, full bathroom and Wi-Fi, making it more practical than many rustic treehouses.

The location in New Hampshire‘s Lakes Region is another major advantage. A private community beach is only a short walk away, while winter brings access to snowmobile trails and other cold-weather activities.

Why We Picked It: The four-season setup means this treehouse works equally well for summer lake trips and snowy winter weekends.

Worth Knowing: This is designed for up to four guests, but couples will naturally have more room in the compact treehouse layout.

---

Best Waterfront Treehouse – The Kales Crow’s Nest

The Kales Crow’s Nest

The Kales Crow’s Nest combines treehouse-style architecture with a beautiful Maine waterfront setting.

A large deck overlooks a protected harbor and private island, while the home itself has two queen bedrooms and two full bathrooms.

There’s also a wood stove and dock, making it easy to incorporate kayaking or canoeing into your stay.

The surrounding water attracts wildlife too, adding another reason to spend time outside rather than simply using the property as a base for sightseeing.

Why We Picked It: Harbor views, a private dock and access to the water make this one of the strongest waterfront properties in the entire New England roundup.

---

Best Luxury Treehouse – SkyView Treehouse at Belgrade Hospitality

SkyView Treehouse at Belgrade Hospitality

SkyView Treehouse combines classic Maine woodland scenery with some of the most desirable amenities in this guide.

The interior includes a loft bedroom and dramatic floor-to-ceiling stone gas fireplace, while heating and air conditioning make the space comfortable in changing weather.

Outside, the private Jacuzzi-style hot tub is the standout feature. Guests can also make use of a shared fire pit, while the nearby waterfront adds opportunities for paddling and relaxing beside the water.

Why We Picked It: A private hot tub, fireplace and waterfront surroundings make SkyView one of the most luxurious treehouse experiences in New England.

---

Best Rustic Treehouse – Treehouse at D Acres

Treehouse – The Hostel at D Acres

Treehouse at D Acres is the property to choose if you want the experience to feel more like treehouse camping than staying in a hotel.

The structure sits around six feet above the ground and is attached to three trees, creating a genuinely simple elevated shelter.

Facilities are deliberately basic. Guests should be prepared for minimal bedding and simple bathroom arrangements, while potable water is available closer to the parking area.

The wider property includes a swimming pond and farm store, and the surrounding forest provides plenty of opportunities to disconnect.

Why We Picked It: Few properties in this guide retain such a simple, genuinely rustic treehouse experience.

Worth Knowing: Bring appropriate bedding and expect basic facilities. This is for travelers comfortable with rustic accommodation.

---

Best Romantic Vermont Treehouse – Moose Meadow Lodge Treehouse

Moose Meadow Lodge

The first floor includes living and dining space surrounded by a generous wraparound deck. Inside, a circular staircase winds around a maple tree, making the tree itself part of the architecture.

Upstairs you’ll find a custom queen bed and balcony, while breakfast adds more of a hosted lodge experience than you’d get from a typical self-catering home.

Why We Picked It: The maple-tree staircase and carefully designed interior give this property genuine treehouse character without sacrificing comfort.

---

Best Oceanfront Treehouse – Sandytoes Treehouse

Sandytoes Treehouse

Overlooking Cape Cod Bay, Sandytoes treehouse is a dramatic and charming seaside barn-style home on six levels.

---

Best in Rhode Island – Treehouse Glamping

Treehouse Glamping

Treehouse Glamping is one of the smallest stays in the roundup but also one of the most unusual.

Its standout feature is a clear roof, allowing you to look toward the trees and sky from inside the accommodation.

Three sides of the treehouse are surrounded by woodland, while the wraparound deck provides extra space to relax outside.

Guests can also enjoy access to a swimming pool and fire pit, and the property remains close enough to Rhode Island’s restaurants and beaches for day trips.

Why We Picked It: The clear roof and wooded setting create a memorable glamping experience that feels very different from a standard vacation rental.

Worth Knowing: This is compact glamping accommodation for up to three rather than a full-size vacation home.
