Looking for Southern treehouse rentals? This collection brings together 20 stays across 15 states, from compact Texas hideaways and Kentucky swinging bridges to woodland retreats in Georgia and West Virginia.
The experience varies considerably: some are elevated treehouses, while others are treehouse-inspired cabins, a treetop condo, or larger vacation homes. There’s even a Louisiana guesthouse with a separate treehouse recreation deck. Below, I’ve made those differences clear so you can choose the right setting, sleeping arrangements, and comforts for your trip.
Start with the shortlist, compare the options, then check the individual details before booking—especially if a private hot tub, pet-friendly policy, or if easy access is essential.

Best in Texas – Leaf Treehouse at HoneyTree Farm
HoneyTree offers five very different options in this collection. Choose by the layout and outdoor space you’ll enjoy most, rather than assuming the cabins have identical features.
Leaf Treehouse
Leaf pairs a king bed and kitchenette with a padded reading nook framed by a round window. Its outdoor bathtub sits on the upper deck, giving a quiet evening soak a particularly memorable setting.
Why We Picked It: Leaf is a strong choice for couples who want a compact woodland hideaway with comfortable indoor space and an outdoor bath.
Acorn Treehouse
Acorn’s helical staircase leads past an outdoor bathtub enclosed on three sides. Inside are a king bed, kitchenette, and rain shower; above, a rooftop patio provides a daybed, swing, and clay fire pit. Expect plenty of stairs.
Why We Picked It: Acorn’s rooftop lounging area gives couples somewhere distinctive to spend the evening after exploring Fredericksburg.
Sapling Treehouse
At The Meadow, Sapling overlooks Palo Alto Creek toward the surrounding hills. A private deck with a lounging gazebo complements the king bed, kitchenette, double rain shower, and indoor soaking tub.
Why We Picked It: Sapling combines pet-friendly accommodation with generous outdoor lounging space and a bathroom designed for a leisurely stay.
Live Oak Treehouse
Live Oak is a stilted cabin at The Meadow with a deck hammock, round-window reading nook, and upstairs king bed. Its outdoor bathtub has privacy screening on three sides and an opening toward the creek scenery.
Why We Picked It: Live Oak suits couples who want to alternate between hammock time, reading, and an outdoor soak without leaving their rental.
Sycamore Treehouse
Sycamore is a treehouse-inspired cabin at The Meadow overlooking Palo Alto Creek. Large windows and a lofted king bedroom bring the scenery indoors, while the kitchen and bathroom—with a rain shower and soaking tub—make longer stays practical.

Why We Picked It: There’s plenty to like about choosing a woodland hideaway as the centerpiece of a trip. This one belongs on the shortlist for travelers drawn to a classic treehouse setting.

Where to Stay in a Southern Treehouse
For a couples’ trip to Texas, start with Leaf or Acorn for an outdoor bathtub, or Live Oak for hammock lounging. If you’re bringing a pet, compare Sapling and Sycamore instead. All five are two-person stays, so choose the layout that fits your plans.
For a small family, 87Getaway offers indoor comforts and generous outdoor space. The Blue Treehouse and The Green Treehouse each sleep four and can be booked separately for families traveling together. Check whether their ladder-access lofts suit everyone in your party.
For a more adventurous stay, choose The Aliyah for its swinging bridge and woodland trails, provided you’re comfortable with a separate bathhouse. Inn The Ravine and Tuscany Treehouse combine a distinctive treehouse setting with a hot tub. Dove Treehouse is another strong couples’ option when a private porch hot tub is central to your plans.
Larger groups should compare Tree Tops in Asheville with The Treehouse in Maryland. Treehouse Guesthouse in Lafayette offers a main house and a treehouse hangout; overnight accommodation is in the house.
Before booking, check the final price for your dates, cancellation terms, pet charges, access requirements, and exact bed layout. Confirm whether a listed tub is a bathtub, jetted bath, or hot tub, and whether any outdoor facilities are shared.
